a guest!
it started to pour and from the corner of my eye, i saw a familiar scurrying figure outside my window. rain was running down all around her and she was trapped. she was actually on the wall outside my window and it wasn't easy to reach her, much less coax her into a container to shelter, but i did (with some extreme contortionist actions, two long-handled brushes, some wire, a container and a piece of paper).

Photobucket

she is a fat little girl who looks like she's carrying eggses. i might give her a temp room to have her bubbas in safety and lots of food. not sure what she is yet... will have to consult uncle moo!

i've never realised that singers had spiders like this. the ones i've seen in my folks' home was always black.

i like the second pic :)

yeh i was surprised to see her waving her white fuzzy palps. from the distance i was at, she didn't look like a usual house spider! maybe she got lost.

i like the second pic too. =)

Hi Val,

What you have just acquired is known as the female Common House Jumper (Menemerus bivittatus).

Very jittery and will run around in circle when it is frightened!

hey steven! hope you've been well! thanks for the info! that's funny that my area has mostly hasarius adansoni and some plexippus paykulli instead of these little ones known as the common house jumper. hehe! they're not so common here!

my little friend seems to be the opposite of jittery... she is very slow-moving and keeps staring into space! reminds me of lucien. she has also eaten her first meal in her 'serviced apartment' and started to build her hammock. =)

Hi Val, I have suspended my spidey activities for quite a while. May keep one or two bigger jumpers if I can get them.

BTW the macro shot of the orange-faced girl looks great.

Oooh! Tan and stripey and fuzzy!

She reminds me of a furry orange tiger cat.
