an update
on my team @ work.

i've just trawled through my old entries to sift out those i wanted to add to memories. quite a nice walk through the past 10 months since i've started this journal. and a good way to recap everything that has happened since.

i realised that i've not been writing about things i used to write about. and it is not because these things have ceased to matter to me, it is because i have not been giving as much thought to them as i used to. my mind has been so busy and tired that i have stopped thinking about a lot of things.

so here's a trail of thought, captured before it vapourises like many before.

one of the many things i noted while going through my old posts is the way we've progressed at work. from the humble beginnings with just synn and i, to my bringing in of laura, then synn's recommendation of vel, and finally we have our newest member sorling who is the youngest in the team so far.

i remember writing awhile back about my concerns about the team. well, these have been dispelled over the past months, and gladly so. vel has shaped up very well, and i'd say is an extremely valuable member of my team today. her language prowess is one of the strongest among the girls, and i have come to trust her immensely. she shows initiative, and provides many funny moments at work at the same time. :)

i did begin to worry about laura when she was a little more down than usual. but she seems to have perked up after her short holiday. :) i have also noticed an improvement in the areas i reminded her about. at the time when i gave her some feedback, she didn't seem receptive and that was why i started to worry - but she did put in the effort to improve and i can see the results. i'm happy to see that she's still the good girl i knew from our waterich days.

our new little one is sorling, a very sweet girl who puts in 101% into her work. she stays positive, and takes criticism constructively. she has a great attitude and i'm glad we have her as one of us. :) her speed has improved a lot, especially this week just past. in fact, she is almost on par with the rest of the team now, with just a couple more little things to look out for and improve on.

synn is still my excellent partner-in-crime, my 5-star lieutenant. :) she hasn't been feeling well lately, but is still soldiering on. i really appreciate it. :) and she has recently set a new record in terms of working speed, which is truly encouraging. yes, it is possible!

and i have broken personal records of my own checking speed.

yet, we are still drowning in work. :s i have been pushing for two new people to join us - in fact we have interviewed and chosen these two lovely girls. i just hope they'll sort out the details and come in to work soon.

i have a fabulous, fabulous team today and i'm very proud of what we've achieved so far. :) i'm really glad to see how everyone turned out, and the excellent team spirit we have going. now for just two more to complete the squad...

they're a top team indeed, and i love 'em to bits.

two newbies are recommendations as well, friends of a trusted colleague so i'm sure they're going to be great. :)

i guess the thing that works for us is that none of us were plucked from the streets - we only bring in people we know.

It's always nice to take a look at your past blog posts. At least you're able to detect improvements and so forth. Mine seems stagnant! Hehe.

there're bound to be stagnant bits in your life now and then...

changes will take place before you know it! :) fasten your seatbelts!
