Remember White Rabbit Creamy Candies? That item is back in another version. Slightly different-sounding name, along with a new rabbit trademark and wrapper colors. Same taste and nostalgia.

More photos here.

A young boy enters a barber shop and the barber whispers to his customer, “This is the dumbest kid in the world. Watch while I prove it to you.”

The barber puts a dollar bill in one hand and two quarters in the other, then calls the boy over and asks, “Which do you want, son?”

The boy takes the quarters and leaves.

“What did I tell you?” said the barber. “That kid never learns!”

Later, when the customer leaves, he sees the same young boy coming out of the ice cream store.

“Hey, son! May I ask you a question? Why did you take the quarters instead of the dollar bill?”

The boy licked his cone and replied, “Because the day I take the dollar, the game is over!”

I don't know if something exsists, I am sure it does.

Please bare with me. I am looking for a exciting dessert, like a cake or maybe a pie, or anything really.

Something including chocolate and fruit. Excluding cherries, also no pumpkin. Oh and no trifle.

I am really open to anything and don't have any limitation but the ones above.

I love everything people post here, so I came here for some help. I am in no rush, just pre planning for christmas.

My coworker's returning to work later this week after her mom passed away. This is a woman who works three jobs, does all the cooking and cleaning in her house, and entertains family (including three grown children) when they come over. Her husband also does nothing. She says that TV dinners are too much work for him, so goodness knows he won't be helping her! I know the entire family will probably be at her house after the funeral this week, AND on top of it all she is expecting 35 people for Thanksgiving dinner at her house next week. My coworkers are collecting money to order flowers for her, but I feel like in her case something practical would be far more appreciated.

So, I am looking for a few things I could make her. I'm thinking maybe two meals that I could make in a size for two people (she and her husband)--so that she doesn't have to go home and cook after working all day, and one or two big things that she could reheat when family stops over. I'd also like to make one dessert that would be good for Thanksgiving.

There are two issues with this- 1) I'm a vegan and have NO idea what meatless dishes non-vegans would enjoy, and 2) I don't know what foods are appropriate for this sort of situation. My coworker eats meat but I'm just not comfortable preparing it, so I want to make something vegetarian (I am willing to buy cheese). I want to make something meatless that she and her husband will enjoy, something that will bring them comfort, and something that can be easily re-heated. What types of thing do people typically make for post-funeral meals?

I was thinking maybe a big batch of monkey bread or cinnamon rolls, and a vegetable lasagna? I also want a couple of meals for two, but I don't know what would be appreciated. A shepherd's pie perhaps? Some type of hotdish? I need ideas! Non-vegetarians, tell me what you'd appreciate in this situation.

I've been apprenticing at a shop for the past year or so. I deal mainly with cake, and made this for my nieces birthday.

I have been converted! Honestly and truly, these are amazing chocolate chip cookies. They're soft, chewy, and they honestly melt in your mouth! One of my friends asked if there was toffee in the cookies because of how tasted almost caramely. The olive oil makes the dough slightly sticky, but that made the cookies have a lot of surface tension and allowed them to puff up into beautiful looking chocolate chip cookie pillows without falling flat. I can't say enough about how delicious these are. I've given them to a number of people and I was complimented on them time after time. If you don't believe me, just try them for yourself! You'll be using this recipe over and over again, guaranteed. Check it out on my blog at The Crepes of Wrath or after the cut.

My boyfriend and I are part of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) and this was the candy served for dessert at the feast during our latest event a few days ago:

Photobucket

The hearts are chewy gingerbread (with slightly strong ginger, but still sweet and good), the round candies are almond bites made with almonds, honey, and almond paste and the flowers are marzipan.

Edgar,

Daddy love to hold your little hands very much. Just 2 evening ago..while we were walking by the East Coast Beach
I thought it be nice to walk together to find mom. I knew the walk is far for you..but you were really attracted by the happening around you..the boat!, the airplane..and the jogger and riders..So the walk wasn't so difficult afterall. For me... I just enjoyed holding your hand and walk along at your pace. It was one kind of enjoyment..

And i just can't help snapping these 2 photos of us at that moment...

I am sure ..we will have many things to say nexttime we go for walk together.......
love you!

My bread fanaticism began when publishers sent me a copy of Andrew Whitley’s new book, Bread Matters: The State of Modern Bread and a Definitive Guide to Baking Your Own. The book makes the case for bread activism -- avoiding possibly harmful and certainly less wholesome mass-produced bread in favor of making your own. Apart from just a political stance, though, Whitley presents breadmaking as an artform -- and one that doesn't have to be too time-consuming, at that. He calculates that a loaf of bread only takes about 30-40 minutes of active work punctuated by periods of waiting.

This was my first experience with letting a sponge ferment for days and baking it into a loaf of delicious bread -- and I'm hooked on the experience, from mixing, to kneading, to proofing, to baking, to eating! My boyfriend and I ate our cheese bread with chicken and dumplings, and then used the leftovers for something decidedly more sinister . . . :)

recipe and photos, including a picture of the PERFECT USE for leftover cheese bread )

To read my review of the book Bread Matters, listen to me waxing poetic about bread, see a photo of how entertaining kneading can be, or just to see more pictures of that amazing breakfast sandwich, please head over to my baking blog, Willow Bird Baking!

yesterday afternoon ..while he was sitting on my lap by the balcony playing..
I made a suggestion to edgar...

Me: Edgar, later we go to Jere's gor gor house okay? But he has 3 dogs..and will you be scare?
Edgar (looked up to me) : Yishun Ah ma (my mother in law) also has dog.. it "wo wo" loud..

I was so amused..and excited....
He is talking to me in a very stable and relax "big boy" manner..Normally he would just pick a few words or just simple..yes or no..

Actually 2 nights ago... while we were singing in the room...he did tried to sing one of his favorite song in a full instead of catching the last words which he usually would do. It was then I realized he has began to try to make another step forward in his growing up... But nothing beat the feeling yesterday..it was just like the 2 of us sitting there..and speaking to each other quietly..and probably...

Black Sabbath -Can't Get Close Enough (Instrumental)
Black Sabbath - The Illusion of Power (Instrumental)

I took to listening to Black Sabbath for the first time, the instrumental versions and was expecting angry rage music which would perhaps mellow out my pissy mood... but they actually sound rather uplifting and almost relaxing. Am still grumpy but at least now I got some new music to air guitar to.
