saturday night kfc

a week ago, the karen ann and i had planned to go rollerblading. we've been slobs and have not made it to east coast for the longestass'd time. alas, it began to pour at 6pm saturday evening and refused to let up. we ended up veging at my place yabbering about everything. at 10pm, i declared hunger and we made the trek to the nearby town centre.

i'd been wanting to eat cheese fries and kfc does not have cheese fries on their home-delivery menu. i asked if i could order normal fries and request to buy a tub of cheese sauce from them. the answer was a resounding NO. singaporeans need to learn to be more flexible.

so we had to visit the nearest kfc in person(s).

anyways, kfc chicken is kfc chicken, and cheese fries are cheese fries. so not much to say about that. :)

when that was done, we proceeded to terrorise the local 7-11. i believe we spent a good half hour in there? i also had me a lime-split ice cream which mingster was blogging about recently. :D very satisfying indeed.

wonder why the KA and i always seem to end up in fast food outlets. perhaps we feed off each other's junk food affinities. junk food junkies amplified when in contact.

finally collected my membership card from baize last sunday.

*** thanks again, leon! :D ***

played two hours of pool with todd. i think i am quite liking the member's antique table very much. :) super lush leather pockets and intricately carved wooden legs. pockets are a little wide, so not good to train on - but very fun for casual play nonetheless.

i've heard about the yummy cocktail prawns here, so i had to have some. :)

quite a yummy texture, though it could have been better if they were a fraction less cooked. dressing was a thousand-island base with bits of extras (either finely diced onions or garlic or bell pepper i reckon) and was quite superb. serving style in a champagne flute is very nice, and quite handy. not bad for 8bux.

japanese fruits

a coupla discoveries while wandering in meidi-ya.

1. japanese honeydew melons cost a whopping 79bux each.

2. japanese strawberries are four times the size, four times the redness and four times the price of the usual punnets from other countries. quite reasonable really.

still don't understand what's with the melons.

my glass slippers

here they are!

like what D said, mouse shoes for my mouse feet. love 'em beyond words. :)

i have trawled the sports shops in singapore, tried countless pairs to no avail. he picks a pair out for me with no mouse feet present to try them out and they fit like a dream. i am a happy mouse.

ps. can anyone explain why nike in america carries smaller sizes than in asia? is there any logic behind this? do they realise that asian women are smaller in size?
