Had a pleasant Sunday lunch with Nic... La Petite Cuisine specialises in cheap French food!

A belated birthday + Christmas pressie - our ketchup was long overdue!

These little buns remind me of my Melbourne life. I loved to pop one of these from my fridge into my oven on a cold, wintry morning and eat it piping hot with lots of butter. <3

The foie gras starter was quite good. I didn't care for the selection of greens though!

Duck confit looked deceptively small but was quite filling! Skin was crisp and savoury. Flesh was quite juicy and tender. Came with a side of creamy potatoes which was also very nice!

Spaghetti with prawns wasn't as good as I expected. While it wasn't bad, the spaghetti was slightly overcooked. Compared to the good pasta I've been having, this one pales.

Generally, very good value for French food! Duck confit was $16. Pasta was $13. Bill for 2 pax came up to $48.

We headed over to Swensen's at Thomson Plaza to have dessert. Brought back memories for us! We used to go for ice cream there when we were teenagers!

The service is atrocious though! Almost all the staff, except for one younger girl, had attitude problems. Our yoghurt sundaes were obviously not made with much effort or presentation.

Still tasted good but the entire experience could have been better. I think I will buy takeaway ice cream from this particular Swensen's from now on.
