the yukke that got left out  

Wow, I am so scatterbrained. This was meant for the Tajimaya entry but somehow didn't get included!

Yukke is a chopped raw beef dish that I have consumed very much of in Melbourne, in a little Japanese restaurant named Chuji Izakaya on Lonsdale Street. Possibly my favouritest Japanese dish ever. I had an authentic one when I was on holiday in Japan and found it to be very close to what I've had at Chuji. Hence I've deduced that Chuji does a very good version on par with those in Japan!

This one at Tajimaya scored on presentation but the taste was just above average. Maybe I have been spoilt by very good yukke. It wasn't bad at all, just not as good as what I've had. The beef was chopped fine, compared to the strips at Chuji and in Japan, so the texture was probably affected.
