for japan (part 1)

After the recent catastrophe, I decided to start posting some happier memories of Japan from my spring visit last year...

Aylee Anne on the Narita Express!

Settling into our lovely little room at the boutique hotel, Sakura Fleur Aoyama in Shibuya.

Even supermarket chirashi kicked ass.

Coats are up!

Good night!

After Day 2, of shopping in Shibuya.

Giganormous mentaiko udon in Osaka. Bigger than my head. I finished all of it!

Love ferris wheels. This one was next to the Osaka Aquarium.

Outside the Osaka Aquarium! Wearing my new Shibuya dress.

Residents of the aquarium saying hi. :)

Original yukke! The one I've been eating in Melbourne at Chuji Izakaya turns out to be quite close!

Checking into a gorgeous ryokan in Osaka.

Loved all the vending machines! Especially the yoghurt drinks.

Best meal of the trip! Three types of crab sushi here, amongst other nommy things!

Finished up with the most amazing fried doughnuts with honey and butter. Freakin' good, this was!

My favourite restaurant in Osaka!

A day at the Osaka Castle...

Cherry blossoms galore!

Majestic structure...

Doing the tourist thing!

Duckies in the pond...

Favourite moment and highlight of my entire trip... When I met an iguana! I've posted this before so I won't harp on it again. But I still love this peekture!

Wonderful kimchi stew supper near the ryokan, where long conversations were had with the nice chef although we had no idea what we were talking about!

End of Part 1. Lots more to come!
